Hulu Kapuas is the upper reaches of the Kapuas river in Kalimantan — the Indonesian portion of Borneo. The Kapuas is the longest river in Indonesia, and the upper region is remote rainforest, reached by boat, with a genuine and long-standing kratom-harvesting tradition.

The yellow designation refers to extended or modified drying rather than to a vein colour. Combined, this is one of the less common strains on the market.

4.1 Brewing it

1. Four to five grams, weighed on a 0.1 g scale. Spoons are not a measure with powder.
2. Stir into hot but not boiling water.
3. Sweeten it. Honey is traditional; anything strongly flavoured works.
