1. Gummies Mushroom Extract 2 pcs
Two mushroom extract gummies. Gummies have become the default edible format across every category of this trade, and they carry one specific risk that chocolate does not.
First, the thing you need to know before you read anything else. The producer has not told us which mushroom extract this contains. The phrase covers two categories of product that have almost nothing in common — one is a food supplement, the other is psychoactive — and the answer determines the dosing, the cautions, who should avoid it entirely, and whether it can legally be sent to where you live. We have written to the producer. Section 3 sets out both possibilities in the meantime.
That risk is the reason this page spends its space on the format rather than on flavour notes.
Legal status: Because we do not yet know what is in this product, we cannot tell you its legal position. Functional mushroom extracts are sold freely across the EU. Psilocybin-containing sclerotia are legal in the Netherlands and controlled in most other countries. Psilocybin mushroom material is controlled in the Netherlands too. Ask us before ordering, particularly if you are outside the Netherlands.

3. Two products with the same name
“Mushroom extract” is used for two things that could hardly be less alike, and the difference is not a technicality:
| Question | What each answer would mean |
|---|---|
| Which mushrooms? | Functional: lion’s mane, reishi, cordyceps, chaga. Psilocybin: material from a psilocybin-containing species. |
| Psychoactive? | Functional: no. Psilocybin: yes, for four to six hours. |
| Who must avoid it? | Functional: very few people. Psilocybin: anyone with a psychiatric history, on SSRIs, MAOIs or lithium, pregnant, or under 18. |
| Can you drive afterwards? | Functional: yes. Psilocybin: no, not for the rest of the day. |
| Can it be shipped to me? | Functional: across the EU, yes. Psilocybin: depends on the source material and your country, and often no. |
3.1 Why this matters more in an edible
Edibles are the format in which dosing mistakes happen most often, for three reasons that apply whichever category this turns out to be: they are pleasant to eat, so there is no natural brake; the dose is fixed by the maker rather than measured by you; and onset is slower than any other route because the material has to go through digestion first. That last one is what causes the classic error — nothing after forty minutes, so take another.
3.2 The gummy problem specifically
Gummies are the format most often involved in accidental consumption by children, and this is well documented rather than a hypothetical:
- They look exactly like sweets. Not similar to sweets — identical. A child cannot tell the difference and neither can an adult at a glance.
- Which is why storage is the whole safety measure. Out of reach, out of sight, and ideally in something that does not look like a sweet packet.
- Never decant them into an unlabelled container. This is how the serious cases happen.
- Tell anyone else in the house. A housemate who knows is a safety measure; one who does not is a risk.
- And if a child does eat one: ring your doctor or emergency services and tell them exactly what happened. There is nothing to be embarrassed about and delay is the only thing that makes it worse.
4. What to do
- Message us first and we will find out. The producer can answer both questions — extract type and per-piece content — in one reply.
- Do not treat eating one as a way of finding out. If it is psilocybin material you have just committed to an afternoon.
- Ordering from outside the Netherlands? Ask first, without exception. One of the two possibilities can be shipped anywhere in the EU and the other cannot.
- Until we confirm, treat it as the stricter product: over 18s, nothing alongside it, no driving, and not at all with a psychiatric history or a serotonergic prescription.
- Store it as though it were the stricter product too, which for a gummy means locked away rather than in a drawer.
4.1 Cautions, assuming the stricter case
- Over 18s only.
- Not in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
- Not for anyone with a personal or close family history of psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or another serious psychiatric condition. Psychedelics can trigger episodes in people who are already predisposed — this is the caution that matters most on the page.
- Not alongside SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs or lithium without talking to a doctor. Lithium and psychedelics together have been linked to seizures.
- Nothing else in the mix: no alcohol, no cannabis, no other substance.
- No driving and no machinery for the rest of the day.
- Nausea in the first hour is normal. Something light a few hours beforehand helps.
- Fridge, sealed, away from children and pets.
Gummies do not look like sweets. They are sweets, with something in them. Storage is not a tidy-up suggestion, it is the safety measure.
- Two mushroom extract gummies.
- The supplier has not specified what kind of mushroom extract. Functional and psilocybin extracts are entirely different products.
- We have asked the producer. Ask us before ordering, particularly from outside the Netherlands.
- Gummies are indistinguishable from sweets, which makes storage the single most important precaution.
- Never decant them into an unlabelled container, and tell anyone else in the house.
- Assume the stricter cautions until confirmed. 18+ only.
- Order before 16:00 on weekdays for same-day dispatch in plain, unmarked packaging.
