1. Blue Lilly Powder x Kratom — 50 grams
Loose blue lotus powder — Nymphaea caerulea, traded as blue lilly — intended to be used alongside kratom powder rather than on its own. Where our liquid blends make that combination for you, this lets you set the ratio yourself.
Blue lotus is the sacred water lily of ancient Egypt. It appears constantly in tomb painting and funerary art, and residue analysis has found it steeped in wine at ceremonial gatherings — one of the better-evidenced cases of ritual plant use in the ancient world. Its characterised alkaloids are apomorphine and nuciferine, and the reported character is a soft, dreamy calm.
Used with kratom, it pulls the blend towards the relaxed end: it makes a small amount of kratom feel gentler and more lifted, and it reinforces the sedation of a larger one. Taken on its own it is mild — most people who buy loose blue lotus powder are buying it to blend or to brew.
Legal status: Nymphaea caerulea is not a controlled plant in the Netherlands or most of the EU. If you are combining it with kratom, the kratom is the component whose legality varies by country — check your local rules for that.

3. Brewing it, and blending it with kratom
Blue lotus powder is bitter and it does not dissolve. Both of the usual approaches work around that rather than pretending otherwise.
3.1 As a tea
- Bring water to just off the boil and let it stand for a minute — fully boiling water is unnecessary here.
- Stir in four to five grams of powder and leave it to steep for ten to fifteen minutes.
- Add honey. This is not decoration; the bitterness is the main reason people give up on loose powder.
- Drink it including the sediment, or strain it if the texture bothers you — you lose a little either way.
3.2 Blended with kratom
- Start with less blue lotus than kratom, not more. Its role is to shift the character of the kratom, not to be the main ingredient.
- Change one variable at a time. If you are also new to the kratom you are using, get to know that on its own first. Two unknowns at once tells you nothing.
- Expect it to lean calm. If you want the mood-lift direction instead, kanna rather than blue lotus is the pairing people reach for.
- Write the ratio down. The entire advantage of loose powder over a ready-made liquid is being able to repeat what worked.
Weigh it rather than using spoons. Powder density varies enough between batches that a tablespoon is not a consistent measure.
4. Cautions
4.1 Blue lotus
- Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Reported as sedating. Do not drive or operate machinery after use.
- Do not combine with alcohol or other sedatives.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
4.2 And if you are combining it with kratom
- Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Kratom acts on the body’s opioid receptors. Regular use can lead to tolerance, dependence and withdrawal — this is well documented and is the single most important thing to know before starting.
- Do not combine with alcohol, sedatives, opioid medication or other central nervous system depressants. This combination is where serious harm occurs.
- Do not use if you have heart, lung, liver or kidney problems, high or low blood pressure, or diabetes, without medical advice.
- Do not drive or operate machinery after use.
- Kratom is restricted or banned in several European countries and under active regulatory review elsewhere. Check your local law before ordering.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
The point of loose powder is control. Weigh both components, write down the ratio, and change one thing at a time.
- Loose blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) powder, sold as blue lilly, for blending with kratom powder.
- Characterised alkaloids: apomorphine and nuciferine. Reported character is a soft, dreamy calm.
- Commonly used at four to five grams, brewed with honey or blended into a kratom preparation.
- Shifts a kratom blend towards the calm end — kanna is the pairing for the opposite direction.
- Weigh it; powder density varies too much for spoon measures to be reliable.
- Not a controlled plant in the Netherlands. 18+ only.
- Order before 16:00 on weekdays for same-day dispatch in plain, unmarked packaging.
