1. Indian Spirit — Kanna ET2 Extract (1 gram)
One gram of Kanna ET2 extract from Indian Spirit, and the most expensive kanna product we carry at €24.50. ET2 is a branded designation rather than a multiplier, which makes it the one kanna product on this shelf you cannot place by number.
Kanna is Sceletium tortuosum, a South African succulent with documented Khoisan use. Its alkaloid mesembrine is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, and that mechanism — along with the interaction warning that follows from it — is identical across every form of kanna we sell.
What is not identical is how you compare this to the others, and section 3 is honest about that.
Legal status: Sceletium tortuosum is not a controlled plant in the Netherlands and is sold legally as a botanical product. It is restricted in a small number of other jurisdictions. Check your local rules before ordering.

3. Branded extracts
A 10X and a 20X can be placed relative to each other and to plain leaf, roughly. ET2 cannot, and it is worth being clear about why:
- A multiplier is a claim about concentration. 10X asserts roughly tenfold against plain material, which at least tells you the direction and rough scale of a quantity.
- A branded name is a claim about a process. ET2 identifies a particular extraction method or alkaloid profile that the producer has developed. It says nothing about concentration relative to leaf.
- Which means you cannot convert. There is no arithmetic that takes you from a 10X quantity to an ET2 quantity, and anyone offering one is guessing.
- Branded extracts are often differently balanced rather than simply stronger. Extraction method affects which alkaloids survive and in what proportion, so an ET2 may have a different character rather than more of the same one.
- And the price is not a strength indicator either. €24.50 against €17.50 for the 20X reflects production cost and positioning as much as anything measurable.
3.1 What to do about that
- Treat it as an entirely new product, even if you use kanna regularly. Prior experience with plain leaf or a multiplier extract does not transfer.
- Start well below whatever you use of the 10X or 20X. Weighed on a 0.01 g scale.
- Ask us for the producer’s guidance before ordering. With a branded extract and no published figure, that is the single most useful thing you can do, and we will chase it.
- Sublingually, as with any kanna extract, and wait half an hour before reconsidering.
- Note what you took. With a product you cannot place by number, your own record is the only reference point you will have.
And the constant across every form: mesembrine is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, so the antidepressant and MAOI warning in section 4 applies here exactly as it does to five grams of plain leaf.
4. Cautions
- Never combine with antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs), MAO inhibitors, lithium or any other serotonergic medication. Mesembrine is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, and stacking two serotonergic agents risks serotonin syndrome — a medical emergency. If you take anything prescribed for mood, anxiety or migraine, ask a pharmacist before considering this.
- Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Do not use with high or low blood pressure, a heart condition, or thyroid or kidney problems.
- Do not combine with other stimulants without knowing your total intake.
- Go carefully with alcohol.
- Do not exceed the stated maximum.
- Store airtight, cool, dry and out of light. Keep away from children.
