3.1 The interaction that matters
Because mesembrine inhibits serotonin reuptake, this capsule must not be combined with antidepressants — SSRIs, SNRIs — or with MAO inhibitors, or with anything else serotonergic. Stacking two serotonergic agents risks serotonin syndrome, which is a medical emergency rather than a rough evening.
