Euphor-E is the happiest cap in the Happy Caps range and was previously sold as Smile-E. Four stars for energy, four for relaxation, and a reputation for making people grin.

The ingredient doing the work is 110 mg of kanna extract 10X — Sceletium tortuosum, whose alkaloid mesembrine is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. That mechanism carries a serious and specific interaction, which is in section 4 and is not optional reading.

“Euphoric” appears on most party products and means very little by itself. Since this cap is named for it, it is worth setting an accurate expectation:

• What a serotonergic botanical produces is a mood lift, not the thing the word euphoria implies to most people. Brighter, more sociable, more inclined to talk. That is genuinely pleasant and it is not dramatic.
• It is not comparable to a controlled substance, and no legal capsule is. Any product that implies otherwise is trading on the implication.
• Expectation is the main risk here. Somebody who takes this expecting something intense and gets a mild lift may conclude it did not work and take something else on top. That is the practical harm in overselling a mood product.
• What kanna is genuinely good at is taking the edge off social awkwardness and lifting a flat mood, which is a modest and useful thing.

Guarana at 150 mg standardised to 30% caffeine gives roughly 45 mg of caffeine per capsule — about half a cup of coffee. Theobromine at 50 mg adds a mild, slow, long-acting lift. Synephrine at 20 mg is the active stimulant of bitter orange, and it raises heart rate and blood pressure, which is why anyone with a cardiovascular condition should avoid this cap.

• Absolutely not with antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs), MAO inhibitors, lithium or any other serotonergic medication. Kanna is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor and the combination risks serotonin syndrome, which is a medical emergency. If you take anything for mood, anxiety or migraine, ask a pharmacist first.
• Contains synephrine, which raises heart rate and blood pressure.
• Strictly 18+.
• Not a substitute for a varied diet, and never exceed the stated maximum.

• Go easy on alcohol. Stimulants mask how drunk you are, which is how people misjudge the evening.
• Stimulants plus dancing plus a hot room means dehydration. Water, breaks, and somewhere cooler every so often.
• Keep out of reach of children.
